Sally and I traveled to Phuket, Thailand at the end of the summer of 2011. We stayed at Friendship Beach Waterfront Resort on the south side of Chalong Bay, between Chalong and Rawai on the east side of the island, 7-18 September. These are videos I recorded at the resort and on a day-trip exploring Chalong Bay.

Monkeys in the Mangroves

Taken by Abbie Anderson from the roof of Gordon Williams' boat the Pitta, on a magical day trip with his River Rovers tour company (www.riverrovers.com) on 15 September. We shared the trip with a lovely Indonesian family from Melbourne, Australia; you can hear Yuli, the mother, asking Gordon questions about his kayaks in the background of this video.

Canine Equine Response, with Bride!

Taken by Abbie Anderson at Friendship Beach Resort, on probably 9 September. Carrot, an adorable Pomeranian dog owned by one of the resort's managers, was barking his enthusiastic little head off at the edge of the tide-wall. I couldn't imagine what was troubling him so--until I saw the horses coming down the beach, a regular occurrence from the nearby Phuket Riding Club. Only this time, the rider was a radiant young woman in a strapless bridal gown!

Phuket Night Market

Taken by Abbie Anderson at the Phuket Night Market on 4 September. Laddaporn Kaewkate ("Kate"), the head nurse for our ward at Phuket International Hospital, took me out on a fantastical night's outing of photography that Sunday evening, ending at the Night Market. I took a short video here to capture the sounds of the market, as well as to see the women working at their stall.
